Please join North Durham Nature's Geoff Carpentier to see what has arrived at several locations along Lake Scugog with good vantage points to see ducks. Please meet at 9:00 a.m. in the Tim Horton's Parking Lot (Hwy. 7A next to the Idependent Grocer). Bring binoculars and a scope if you have one. Details: This annual event is looked forward to with much excitement by the little ones! And the parents have fun too!!! The Easter Bunny will be in attendance as usual. The hunt is for kids aged 8 and under, but bigger kids can help their siblings and visit with the Bunny! Families are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for our local food bank to the event. Please note that the egg hunt begins at 9:00 sharp and it doesn't take long for the kids to scour the place clean! Families will enjoy the tractor wagon ride (weather permitting) to go and see the Easter Bunny and hunt for eggs. Children will trade their plastic eggs for a special treat in the greenhouse and plant a seed to take home for their garden.
Scavenger Hunt – Recommended for ages 7 to 12. Families start the day’s activities at admissions, where they will purchase their ticket and receive their scavenger hunt passport and map. Children will proceed to the greenhouse where they will create an Easter craft. Families will ride the wagon (weather permitting) to their first scavenger hunt station. Children will follow the clues, placed around the farm. When their passport is complete, they can submit their completed answers for a special treat! The market and bakery are open during the Easter weekend activities, we will have barbecue available with fresh baking and gifts.

Activities begin at 10:15 and the hunt begins at 11:00 am sharp. This event is so much fun because of YOU! Last year, we had over 36,000 eggs, and that is amazing! For those needing a reminder or for those of you who are attending for the first time, all we ask is that you donate one bag of foil wrapped chocolate eggs per child attending the hunt to 80 Handley Crescent in the bin on the porch. Donations begin on Sunday, April 9th and continue all week until Good Friday. With so many different types of eggs being donated, we cannot guarantee a nut free event, please keep this in mind if you have little ones with allergies.As always, if you live in the hood, you'll want to walk - and you never know who you will bump into on the way (the Easter Bunny has been known to stroll through the neighbourhood on her way there). If you are driving, leave yourself time as it gets very busy and you'll most likely have to park and walk. Whether you walk or drive, please be aware of all the little ones who will be excited, so please drive and walk safely.We will have lots of fun activities before the egg hunt begins and we'll update you on those over the upcoming weeks. Children's Easter Egg Hunt
